Carrom

Carrom (also spelled carom/carroms) is a tabletop game of Indian origin. The game is very popular in South Asia, and is known by various names in different languages. Carrom is very commonly played by families, including children, and at social functions. Our former Headmaster Rev. Dushantha Rodrigo has helped in numerous ways to develop this sport in our school.

After its inception in 2016, Mrs. Mathayaus was the first Carrom coach at Prep School. We are ever so grateful to her for encouraging and helping our students make this sport a success. At present, Carrom is coached by Mr. J.H.S. Priyadarshana and there are roughly 20-30 students involved in the sport from Grades 6 to 11. Carrom practices are held every Tuesday from 2.00pm – 4.00pm. The Teacher-In-Charge of Carrom is Mrs. Imalka Marasinghe.
